What is a good leather cleaner for purses?

I have some high end purses, and need to be cleaned badly! The leather straps are really dirty, as are the bags. The leather has turned a pretty "patina" color. But, I want to clean it, any suggestions as to what cleaners work best?
Try saddle soap. It works very well on my leather shoes.

go to a shoe store and get some of their leather shoe cleaner. i use it to clean leather motorcycle jackets and it works like a charm

The retail leather cleaner should work well. The next time you buy a "real" leather purse (or shoes for that matter), use a leather conditioning creme before using them.
