Does anyone else find Pam Anderson to be a total hypocrite?

PETA spokeswoman, Pam Anderson, takes every opportunity to sound off on animal rights and publicly chastise other celebrities such as Jessica Simpson for wearing a "Real Woman Eat Meat" t-shirt. I’m just curious as to why it is that she was recently photographed by the paparrazzi carrying 10 grand, 100 percent leather, Hermes HAC bag that’s larger than your average suitcase! Not to mention her recent donation of a Dodge Viper to a PETA charity only to have it revoked due to the luxurious leather interior! I’m all for animal rights, I’m just so tired of her posing as the epitome of an animal rights advocate because she thinks it’s not okay to eat steak but to carry it around as an accessory is totally fine. It’s not just her. The "Vote or Die" campaign comes to mind. Paris Hilton was photographed all over Hollywood in the shirts… Survey says! She didn’t even vote! Is anyone else tired of the hypocrisy in pop culture??

Your Answer:
Yes, I saw those reports about Pam being a hypocrite. I didn’t hear about the Hermes bag. I think she really needs to do her homework and find out if she is being TOTALLY 100% correct about her beliefs and what she actually incorporates into her world. She has made mistakes and seems to correct them.

Paris Hilton hadn’t even registered to vote. She is truly a waste of a human being. And, with all of this "Green" stuff going on and then you hear about these stars going on private planes and driving huge cars, etc.

Yeah….whenever I hear one of them say something, I just roll my eyes and turn the channel.

PETA itself can be criticized for reasons I won’t go into here.

Pamela Anderson and almost every celebrity that supports animal rights or voting rights or . . . whatever? can be seen as a hypocrite if they have a "holier than thou" attitude. Now I am going to take a "holier than thou" attitude and say it’s our own fault when an ordinary person (Pam) can become an extraordinary person by getting a boob job. I am not picking on her I am picking on us. I am very tired of seeing the hypocrisy I see in pop culture (as well as our political/economic culture).

However, I am going to play ‘devil’s advocate’ here and again say it’s our own fault for financing and furthering this culture of the absurd. Why do we give such "power of influence" to these celebrities? I am not talking about paying to go see their movies or buying their records. I love the movies and music and the arts, etc. But, why is there a need to want to be like them, or listen to their ‘wisdom’, or buy the products they hustle, or be so curious about their lives (tabloids)? Is it because we are not being fulfilled in our own lives? And you know they are not that glamorous out of make-up. Money and fame? To be crude, they may have several pots to piss in but you can only use one pot at a time and fame as we know . . . but I digress.

Another problem about looking to others for their hypocritical behavior is I am a hypocrite myself. I don’t want animals tortured or abused and I support many groups that want to help animals, especially those in the wild. I don’t know why I make that distinction between wild or domesticated other than it makes me feel better about myself. I am not a vegan and I wear leather (shoes & belts, and yes I have a jacket, for example). I always buy eggs from companies that claim ‘from cage free hens’ in the hope that I have made a better life for chickens. That probably makes me not only a hypocrite but naive, as well.

To quit my rant, you have a very good question that made me think.
